Job Description and Key Responsibilities:
The Engineering Department is seeking a highly motivated and energetic college senior, or recent college graduate, for a 14-week, paid internship in the areas of microfluidics, systems, and device engineering within the field of medical diagnostics.

The incumbent will assist Engineers and Scientists in the product development laboratory and will be responsible for prototyping and testing components or sub-systems as well as performing analytical measurements and writing summary reports with statistical analysis.
bullet Rising Senior or recent graduate from a BS program
bullet Ability and desire to work for a 14 week period from May to August 2010
bullet Prior design and laboratory experience in one of the following technology areas: microfluidics, imaging optics, bio-instrumentation, or prototype fabrication
bullet Experience with prototyping and testing components or sub-systems
bullet Ability to perform and design experiments and write summary test reports
bullet Excellent verbal and written communication skills
bullet Heat transfer (COSMOL or COSMOS) or Optical Modeling (Zemax) CAD software expertise is a plus
